What is Engineers Week?

In 2023, Engineers Week will be celebrated from February 20, to February 26.

Engineering is something that is a part of everyday life, but a lot of people seem to be unaware of this! That's why the National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE) started Engineers Week. Its aim is to promote and raise awareness of engineering's contribution to society.

Why is Engineers Week Celebrated?

Engineers Week celebrates the positive contributions that engineers have made to the quality of life. It's also an opportunity to increase diversity within the workplace, reinforce good education, and increase interest and understanding of the trade.

Celebrating Engineers Week enables young people to be inspired and motivated to get involved in engineering, especially if teachers and parents contribute. Dedicating lesson time to engineering will help children to understand the basics, so they can decide if they want to pursue it as a career.

Types of Engineering Careers:

  • civil engineering;

  • chemical engineering;

  • mechanical engineering;

  • aeronautical engineering;

  • electrical engineering;

  • plus many more.
