We were delighted to welcome Cork Senior Hurler, Niall O'Leary, to Scoil an Athar Tadhg this week to launch our 10th CD in aid of Cork charities!
Recorded with Mick Flannery pre-lockdown in March 2020, and after already raising in excess of €10000 from online donations during the pandemic, it was a brilliant occasion as we eventually got to formally launch our charity CD.
Scott White warmed up the already excited crowd with a wonderful rendition of Dreams by the Cranberries. Afterwards Mr. Hanafin (organiser in-chief of all events!) introduced Niall to the assembled crowd of pupils, parents, staff and past pupils who featured on the 2020 recording! Mr. Hanafin went on to interview Niall and asked him some unique questions!!!!
While we were very grateful to Niall (and Kieran Kingston) for coming to our school and being very generous with his time.....he was somewhat upstaged by the wonderful efforts and talents of Daniel O'Donovan who sang a rousing rendition of "When I play County" by the 2 Johnnies.
Our CD in aid of Marymount is on sale now for €10. Teams of pupils will be facilitating sales at the school gate each evening. We are also selling copies of the CD in Dunnes Ballyvolane Thur., Fri & Sat next week - Volunteer sales people required!! Please contact Mr. Hanafin via the school office if you can help out!
