Green school

The green schools committee  is made up of two to three pupils from each class from the school under the guidance of Mr.O Callaghan and Ms. Hilliard. The green schools committee has been working all year to reduce the level of energy being used in the school . Last year the school was working to cut down littering in the school. We were rewarded with a Green Schools Flag. We decided it would be a good idea to put up artwork to remind people of our goal such as our slogan 'Brighty no likey the lighty'  and our Mascot ,Brighty the Light Bulb. In March our energy bill was huge.People continued to turn the lights, computers and even heating on when it was unnecessary. So the Green Schools Committee had to come up with some more ideas and a new slogan for May   ('Less pay for May'). We now have an energy warden in each class to tell the teacher if energy is being wasted and we have an ideas box in the hall for anybody who has a helpful  idea they might like to share. Next year we will also be working to save energy. And hopefully we can get another Green Schools Flag!!
